Hey there, I'm Kathy Anderson. I'm a career biologist who had spent a lifetime hiking in the woods, wading in streams, and tromping through wetlands. One of my favorite family memories is helping my late great-grandmother pull pokeweed from the backyard and cook it for dinner.
I have studied and instructed martial arts since a teenager and am a member of the U.S.A. Martial Arts Hall of Fame Hall of Heroes. I'm a wife and mother of two teens, both of whom are Black Belt students. My artistic endeavors include writing, acrylic and mixed media painting, and environmental photography.
I am also the author of children’s animal adventure Woody, Snappy, and Terpy Swamp Party!, teen novel Chana Seeking the Red Bird, heritage journey Awi Squad Buds Games Under the Sun, reading rhymes Red and Pop, and I co-wrote forage, farming, and gardening story Fern and Ginger Dandelions and Watermelons and foraging adventure Fern Foraging in the Forest with my twin sister.
